That's Moses. If you had read Exodus, he repeatedly told his people the importance of holiday. Once in a week, that counts for something. Probably Moses learned the cycle of 7 from his vast astological knowledge. One violator was stoned to death. It was thus important.
I was unable to take holidays once in a week for this one month. I am not a wage worker and I am not working full time every day, though, I just found it hard to keep this pattern as it is. I've got to think it over again in order to keep on healthy working life.

Mosha was in Exodus ;) , breaking Shabbat was a very bad idea , G-d said it is a death sentence .
