There's No Alternative
There's No Alternative

I was assigned to go to 4 days job skill up training course which will have been held four times per one class in a week. I know the trainer who is soon to retire in June. He is 59 now. He suggested going to eat with him. This is the first rarity I encountered today. So I said,' Because you proposed me to eat with you, you ought to pay.' He said, 'No, let's pay each.' I didn't think it's common for us guys to pay each by ourselves, then I said nothing and agreed to go out. This was the second rarity. On the street, he started smoking. Third rarity. In the cafeteria, he was still smoking. Fourth rarity. In the first place I never eat in restaurant for some reason, so it's fifth rarity.
He started talking to me about his future after he retired. He was expecting to work by 70% worthy of his last salary and offered to work in $10 per hour. He told me he's still considering but he was very disapointed. I said, 'I never entered the work force. I don't expect anything from my company.' 'You have no retirement.', he said. 'Right ' I said.
'Did you quit smoking?', he asked, and I said, 'There's no alternative to smoke in my life.'
He said he entered the company in hope of working till retirement, this was happy when he started working, it's been changing for these ten years.
I think we both showed great empathy one another, he was in trouble as to after his retirement. His first rarity comes from that.
'Did you quit smoking?' I was strongly impressed by the word.
